How does leaving a gift in your Will work?

Leaving a gift in your will is an especially profound and valued form of support. A bequest to Lighthouse Foundation will change the lives of homeless young Australians.

The best way to ensure smooth handover of your bequest is to seek professional advice before including Lighthouse in your will, and letting us know. With a safe financial future, Lighthouse Foundation is better able to plan and care for young people who have been traumatised by violence, neglect and abuse and will help us to achieve our mission of ending youth homelessness together.

Below is our suggested wording, however we recommend seeking legal advice before updating your will:

I                         bequeath to Lighthouse Foundation of 13 Adolph Street, Richmond, for its general purposes, free of all duties, the following:

____% of my estate; or

the residue of my estate; or

the sum of $____; or

life insurance policy number ____; or

property [insert details]; or

other [insert details].

and I declare that the receipt of the Chair of the Board or Chief Executive Officer of Lighthouse Foundation shall be sufficient discharge to my Executor for this bequest.
